As apart of TST magazine show i was involved in two of the inserts: Fasion voxpox and the Zombie attack . My role in the fashion voxpox was to do the pre-production paper work to ensure that the camera operator and the presenters knew exactly what they were meant to do.
The whole purpose of pre-production is preparing all the elements involved in creating a film or anything of that matter. Pre- production is a vital part of the filming because it helps the cast and crew understand get into their role. Although recording the actually footages is very much important, what is even more important is planing, structuring and breaking down the script into managable chunks for the presenters. During this process, the cast are hired, the producer, directors, presenters and script writers team up and go through the script, the set designer starts building, sound and lightning are set up and so on forth.
Fashion voxpox is an insert introducing the latest fashion trending throughout London. With the amazing Aminah hitting Oxford and carnaby street in search for the next big thing. Interviewing random people on the streets about their thought on what is trending and what should make a fashion comeback. It focuses mainly around fashion and the relevant trends and gaining in depth knowledge about what separates street fashion from catwalk.
Fashion is such a wide area to look at, so it was exciting to know more in depth about it. It is one of the biggest topic around the world because everyone is fascinated by the different role models and fashion trends that are around these days. It was truly an interesting topic to be involved in because I for one leaned alot more about fashion and how fascinating it is to create a look. Also, i got to get others opinion on fashion as well as my own.
The only downside to the insert is that it went over the specific timing limit recorded in the brief. As in the brief it stated that the inserst should be no more than 2 minutes long and our insert was 2:50 minutes. But as most there was a few technical difficulties with most of the inserts , I guess it was okay.
My other role which was acting in the 'Zombie Attack' was exciting, interesting and breath taking. It was interesting because I got to dress up in make up, with blood dripping down my face and that for me was very exciting. Also knowing it was for my coursework pushed me into my role a lot more because I knew the consequences if I messed up. So, although there was a lot on excitment there, I knew I had to think about the bigger picture which is making sure I did my part as best as I could.
Overall, I think I fulfiled both my roles as I did exactly what was asked of me and The inserts were filmed and edited.
